Citizens Bank Foundation Awards $35,000 Grant to Boston LISC

Grant to support Boston LISC's Resilient Communities/Resilient Families Initiative in Dorchester, Mattapan and Roxbury neighborhoods
BOSTON (December 12, 2012) – Tuesday's press release from The Citizens Bank Foundation announced that it has awarded a $35,000 grant to Local Initiatives Support Corporate (LISC) of Boston to support its Resilient Communities/Resilient Families (RCRF) program for the Dorchester, Mattapan and Roxbury communities of Boston.


As part of the program, LISC has engaged residents of the three neighborhoods to conduct 261 meetings with a goal of enhancing community and family resilience. Results have included: 

  • Development of neighborhood coalitions;
  • Deployment of action groups;
  • Creation of community contracts;
  • Ongoing work toward addressing affordable housing needs;
  • Ongoing development of creative solutions for meeting basic human needs; and
  • Ongoing revitalization of economically distressed areas.
