As a part of the National Night Out Against Crime, Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation and the Neighborhood Crime Watch Unit of the Boston Police Department, with support from Boston LISC, held a neighborhood block party this past Saturday. Hosted at English High School, the event attracted dozens of families and community members to celebrate and promote the neighborhood’s efforts to make the area a safe place to live, work, and play.

Attendees enjoyed a variety of attractions, from a dunk tank to a rock-climbing wall, while learning about different safety initiatives in the neighborhood. For the past two years, LISC has supported similar safety programs as a part of JPNDC’s Community Safety Initiative, an effort to organize the community around improving safety.
